Jerry was introduced to fine wines when he was a student at Boston University during the early 1970s. He was part of a weekly tasting group that sampled French Bordeaux and Burgundies. Jerry's new passion remained simply a hobby for the next ten years until he went to work for a wholesale distributor in 1982.

Starting as a salesman, Jerry rose through the ranks of several Boston area wine sellers. Many of his customers were restaurants and hotels. Through consulting and educational programs, Jerry quickly established a name for himself in the Boston restaurant scene. In 1996 Jerry became the wine director for Boston's Il Panino Restaurant Group, where he created, developed and wrote cutting-edge wine lists for five locations of this popular Italian restaurant. At the same time he served as wine director for Enoteca Vadopazzo, bringing a 300-bottle wine list to the restaurant, which featured the most sought-after producers of Italian wine.

Now, Jerry has created a list for Anago of American, French and Italian wines focusing on producers whose styles emphasize ripe fruit, soaring aromatics and natural textures. Jerry's goal is to have the wines complement the food and Anago's food complement the wines.
